Jie Zhang is a Research Manager at the International Corporate Accountability Roundtable(ICAR), where she focuses on advancing corporate accountability in the technology sector through research and cross-sector collaboration. She contributes to Ranking Digital Rights (RDR) as an External Research Advisor, providing input on research and supporting collaboration between RDR and ICAR. She has led contributions to the RDR Index across several research cycles, particularly in data and company analysis. Her work centers on the human rights impacts of technology companies, with particular expertise in China’s digital ecosystem. She examines how corporate practices, state policies, and regulatory frameworks intersect to shape platform governance and the broader information environment, as well as how technological developments influence governance models and social norms. Through her work, she contributes to strengthening global frameworks for tech accountability while bringing critical, region-specific perspectives into international policy and research discussions.
